The local firefighter will take the stage on September 10.

The Assistant Chief of Station 62 of the Ivyland Fire Department will take the stage to celebrate the area’s 150th anniversary.

When he’s not fighting fires, James Cantore sings and plays guitar for Friday Night Phoenix, a classic tri-state rock band. On September 10, his band will take the stage for a free benefit concert in the small Victorian borough of Ivyland. The concert will be held to raise funds for the region’s anniversary celebration.

Hailing from Staten Island, New York, Cantore got his start in music in the early 80s. During that time, he had a role in a touring production of the music sound with famous opera singer Roberta Peters and film actor and performer Theodore Bikel.

Moving to Ivyland in 2016 after years in law enforcement, Cantore pursued his love of music. His band performed throughout the region and even hit big stages, including The Stone Pony in Ashbury Park, New Jersey.

Come this weekend, Cantore’s band will be playing classic rock favorites at Ivyland Commons Park, located in the heart of the Borough of Ivyland, to further support their community with fun and music.
