Clarkston Fire Department

CLARKSTON –Wednesday, October 13 at 2:15 a.m., the Clarkston Fire Department was dispatched on a blaze with apparent flames at a local motel. On their arrival, the crews saw strong flames escaping between an outbuilding and the main structure.

The first attack quickly brought down the flames, but the fire had spread to the motel’s attic with flames visible through the roof. Firefighting efforts went inside in order to reach the attic fire. The fire only affected 4 rooms and the outbuilding. Mop up and find hot spots for a few hours making sure there was no chance of reigniting.

Asotin County Fire District # 1, Lewiston Fire Department and Clearwater Paper Fire responded with our auto aid agreement. Thanks to our brothers from other departments for your help.

This fire is still under investigation without a specific cause at this time. No injuries were reported.
